Welcome to Bethany Center's website. Bethany is a nonprofit, nonsectarian residence that, in the words of its motto, "provides housing and services to low-income people with a priority to seniors."

Located in the vibrant and colorful Mission District of San Francisco, with its many cultural attractions and easy access to public transportation, Bethany Center is a special place where women and men of many cultures and interests gather together in a safe and secure community setting. From the day they move in, our new residents are welcomed by the companionship of the individuals who make up the Bethany Center Family.

Moving to a new home and starting a new life surrounded by strangers are emotional and, in many cases, physical challenges. We strive to make the adjustment to changed circumstances as easy and as comfortable as possible by providing residents with facilities and services designed to meet their social, psychological, and physical needs.

We are recognized worldwide as a model of supportive housing for seniors, and special praise has come to us through awards from the California Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (CAHSA) and the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA).
